Visiting Hours

Visitation is FREE and by appointment only, closed on Wednesdays.
(Special arrangements can be made for Wednesdays.)

Winter appointments, (October 15 - March 31), are at 10AM and 1PM.
Summer appointments, (April 1 - October 14), are at 9AM, 12 noon and 3PM.
During the longer days in June and July, 6PM appointments are available.

Expect to spend 2½+ hours. Wear clothing that can get dirty as you will be permitted to get next to and play with several of our animals. Shoes or boots are required, no bare feet or sandals.

Directions to Guffey from Colorado Springs

  1. Heading west on Highway 24 go 1.6 miles past Divide and turn left on Twin Rocks Road
  2. Follow Twin Rocks Road to the end [about 5.8 miles] and turn left on Co Rd 1
  3. Go about 6 miles, Lama farm on left turn right on Co Rd 11
  4. Go about 4 miles to Y-intersection turn right
  5. Go about 14 miles to Guffey turn right at stop sign go past Post Office to Rita’s Café

Directions to Guffey from Canon City

  1. Heading west on Highway 50 from Canon City go about 9 miles to Highway 9
  2. Turn right, (north), on Highway 9 and go about 21.5 miles
  3. Go about 1 mile to Rita’s Café on left

Directions to Guffey from Hartsel

  1. Heading south on Highway 9 from Hartsel go about 25 miles
  2. Turn left on County Road 102/59 to Guffey
  3. Go about 1 mile to Rita’s Café on left
